The Nationals’ Scott Leary - who contested Liberal preselection - is set to win the seat of Albany, with a 135 vote margin at the final distribution of preferences. Brough’s votes will now be split between Leary and Labor’s Rebecca Stephens, seeing the Nats pick up the seat.

In Albany, Liberal Thomas Brough has firmed up his lead, with a 700 vote margin over National Scott Leary, before Independent Mario Lionetti’s near 3000 votes are distributed. Lionetti recommended votes preference Brough over Leary. At this rate, it’s his seat to lose.

Labor believes Simone McGurk's lead in Freo is now about 10 votes shy of 500 (up from 342 before further counting this afternoon). Appears as though senior Labor minister will survive teal challenge

My personal WA election predictions; Libs gain 11 (Nedlands, Carine, Churchlands, Bateman, Warren-Blackwood, Scarborough, Albany, Geraldton, Kalamunda, Murray Wellington & Kingsley). No Nat or Indy pickups. Lab 43, Lib 13, Nat 3.
