@AdamWagner1 This is the part of Hancock’s argument which never stuck for me. The pictures were dated 6th May and his defence was that at that point it was guidance not the law. Not only incorrect but assumes we’re naive to believe this was the first instance of this happening

I hadn’t realised, as Matt Hancock seems to have just admitted on @GMB, that the image of him was taken on 6th May 2021, when we were still in step 2. This w meant any gathering of more than one person indoors for social purposes was prohibited by law

Another weekend looming and another week of exasperation at just how utterly useless @AvantiWestCoast are. Completely destroyed a mostly reliable rail service between London and Manchester (and everywhere between/beyond). Laughable that they're getting a new contract.

We’re aware of a shortage of HGV drivers, so I'm announcing a temp extension of drivers' hours rules from Mon 12 July, giving flexibility to drivers & operators to make slightly longer journeys. We've ramped up the number of driving tests available & will consider other measures.
