@ShadowxElsa @wiguy94 @jjcoop36 Tell me the last pitcher who didn't break down at some point, and the majority of them come back similar to their pre-injury selves. Chris Sale dominating right now seems a pretty good example

@wiguy94 @jjcoop36 One interesting thing, Mis might have one more start this month, as does Sanchez. It might mean that both have the same inning total I may even though Sanchez starts one less game

@JakeMcKibbinBB @jjcoop36 Misiorowski has clearly been the more dominant/unhittable guy but that length from Sanchez is incredible.

@wiguy94 @jjcoop36 Yeah that one run might cost him, but he had a 0.66 FIP as well I may prior to tonight's 12 K's 😬 Still I agree, Sanchez probably edges it

@jjcoop36 Sanchez certainly could. He's averaging 8 innings a start with a 0 ERA and 1.21 FIP

However many people are loving Jacob Misiorowski right now, it's not enough. This is the most outrageous pitching talent I've seen, and he's still getting BETTER

@wiguy94 Good point! Even then, for a guy struggling with command at times, the lack of target isn't help, maybe the Brewers were suspicious the Dodgers could pick up cues from the catcher? It's something Murphy did suggest as possible

Interestingly, William Contreras isn't giving targets to Sproat against Ohtani. Are they worried that it's Contreras giving up some pitch calls?

With Wednesday's starter against St Louis as TBA, I wonder if that's the game where the Brewers reinstate Brandon Woodruff, or at least are open to that depending on how he recovers over the next few days

@Terry0481 Yeah, unfortunately that's also Joey Ortiz's batted ball profile. Low whiff, awful EV's and poor launch angles (albeit better of late) Combine that with the defense being sloppy, which the Brewers haven't got a ton of tolerance for historically, and Jett Williams surging

@JakeMcKibbinBB Swing harder with whiff% at career low, but EV/LA distribution was quite disastrous, though oftentimes it was timing-related issue. Feels like he’ll have longer leash than fans would like.

Luis Rengifo looked checked out tonight. It's the first time I've seen someone other than Contreras not busting it down the line on a ground ball, defensive errors (more mental than anything) are cropping up. More of this and idk if he'll be on the roster in a week's time

The stuff+ didn't grade out too well last year either, there's a bit of velocity to come still which is the main separator His issue according to Murphy is struggling to feel the ball out of his hand. There's a possibility this all just clicks overnight

Results weren't good, but overall not the worst start for Priester, with the velo up a tad. There are some complications in that: - We don't know if there's a surgery on the table, this isn't a normal TOS - It's all related to feel, if that comes back, the command should too

@JakeMcKibbinBB @smichaelis234 Obviously a horrible angle to tell but feels like he’s not striding forward as much in that clip which would definitely tie in to what you two were saying

@wiguy94 @ChiSportsFanJoe Yeah if we're going relative to the era that makes a lot of sense. Miz's late, sudden development of a semblance of command really impacted the hype around him coming up

@JakeMcKibbinBB @ChiSportsFanJoe Yeah I agree but I think it’s all relative. Every generation is going to be nastier than the last because of advancements in training and development. Prior and Wood were way more hyped than Misiorowski ever was.

I also can't remember if the Cubs have EVER had a pitching prospect with the abilities and arsenal like Jacob Misiorowski. #Cubs

@wiguy94 @ChiSportsFanJoe To be fair, has there ever been an arsenal like Jacob Misiorowski in baseball? If we're talking pure stuff, It might even be a step up from prime DeGrom (albeit his command was exceptional alongside that)

@ChiSportsFanJoe Misiorowski hasn’t even had a full season in the bigs yet so that could else end up being true for him as well

@a_non_criminal Miz faced similar issues last year. He looks strong , but functional fitness Vs aesthetic fitness are different, and there are going to be developments there at his age. He can get better but he'll need games to do so, games with high levels of nerves and stress

Brandon Sproat's ability to hold his stuff deep into a game is concerning. His velocity was down towards the end of 2025, and he's been notably different ~ 65 pitches in. Most tellingly, Sproat has faced 19 hitters the third time through in 2026. He has zero strikeouts

Made a fun viz for non-public MiLB hitter data. Quick notes on a few big names... -Jesús Made: Strong contact ability, lot of hard contact on ground -Josue De Paula: Amazing -Xavier Neyens: Murakami-like pop w/ no chase, zone contact issues Who do you want to see? 👀
