It already has happened. Of course, that first animated Mario movie made 1 billion. The past 3 Sonic movies made its franchise hit a billion. Minecraft movie almost did the same too. Case in point, Video Game movies are the new superhero movies genre to many nerds everywhere.
Here is another confirmation that the #SonicMovie4 teaser is playing in theaters. It have been rated according to this website. Thanks to @zomikpizzatime for finding this. There is a chance you might find the teaser playing in front of the new Mario movie coming this April.
