The oxygen tank explosion which crippled Apollo 13 happened at the perfect time in the flight. If Odyssey had been crippled earlier following TLI, Lovell, Swigert, and Haise couldn't have survived that return. If after LOI and Aquarius landing or following TEI, that'd be that.

Orion’s crew and service module have separated. The crew module continues on its path towards Earth while the service module will harmlessly burn up in Earth’s atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean. The Artemis II return trajectory is designed to ensure any remaining debris does not pose a hazard to land, people, or shipping lanes.

The fastest a crewed spaceflight has ever gone was 24,791mph when Tom Stafford, John Young, and Gene Cernan returned from the Moon on Apollo 10. As well as becoming the furthest humans from Earth, Wiseman, Glover, Koch, and Hansen are about to become the fastest. #ArtemisII
