Never seen anything like that. Joe Schilling got head butted while in bottom full guard, Mike Beltran stopped the fight and took a point from Abena. After protest from Schilling, Beltran finally got the fight reset to full guard position. Schilling then disputed the position, stood up and called the fight off on his own. Very odd, but Abena moves to 1-0 in MMA with a 100% takedown rate #PFLBrussels

🚨| Fatima Kline joined me ahead of her #UFCOKC fight against Amanda Ribas! Fatima believes she will be “very close” to a title shot with a win over Ribas. With the rumors of Gillian Robertson vs Mackenzie Dern heating up, I asked Fatima all about the top of the SW division. Fatima believes Weili Zhang vs Dern is the most logical fight to make, but mentions both Robertson & Tatiana Suarez being in the mix too. She also said both Robertson & Suarez could be good fights for herself someday soon. Being the first woman to headline Madison Square Garden is a goal of Fatima’s. She said that last time she fought there she was on the prelims, she hopes to be on the main card if UFC comes to MSG this November, and then the only milestone left is to headline the venue someday. Obviously Fatima trains very closely with Erin Blanchfield. Blanchfield doesn’t have a fight booked currently, but Fatima said she would love to see her get a title shot or fight #1 contender Natalia Silva next. Fatima trains primarily at MK Muay Thai in NJ. But she also spent some time this camp at Marquez MMA in Philly and Syndicate MMA alongside Gina Carano. 🚨| Caught up with Syndicate MMA’s Coach John Wood after the #RouseyCarano card to talk about the Netflix event and much more! Wood tells me that Gina Carano’s itch was certainly not satisfied after the quick finish by Ronda Rousey. Obviously losing 100lb and getting through a tough training camp was a victory in itself, but Wood says HE thinks Carano will fight again. Important to emphasize that is his opinion, not her words. However, he did say that Gina is already getting phone calls. Wood was very impressed by the MVP promotion and said it was flawless behind the scenes. He also praised the fighter pay and says most fighters made more than CSAC disclosed to the public. He hopes this trend spreads and the fighter profit margin increases across the sport. Lastly on Netflix, Wood truly believes more promotional competition will help MMA & fighters as a whole. As for Wood’s UFC fighters, he said to expect a Khalil Rountree Jr. fight announcement any day now. Merab Dvalishvili is still waiting on Petr Yan to be healthy, hopefully in August. 👊 Kyle Daukaus hopes to cross paths with Brendan Allen again to avenge his 2020 UFC debut loss to him, possibly soon: “I do have my eyes set on Brendan Allen, though. I did lose the fight to him, on my debut, the first time I ever got signed. That was on 10 days notice.
