@JakeNonsuke @revueofanxiety If a venue permits photos after an event, it would kinda reason that taking them before it starts is still following the spirit of the rule; which is clearly meant to keep people from recording the performance itself

When I took a picture of the empty stage 20 minutes before a performance and the two people I sat between lost their shit and I had to delete the photo to get them to calm down.

Seeing a lot on about Japanese and Western fans/otaku arguing about piracy and the availability of work overseas. I don’t think the two sides can be reconciled. It’s a big cultural difference. Anyone who’s tried to talk to Japanese people about copyright before this will know.
