The “FIFA is dead” videoes are doing the rounds again. And don’t get me wrong the game is shit, but it’s been so for Years. But these videoes are getting a bit old. The old FIFA cycle was grinding until TOTY, then taking nice breaks dipping into FUT Birthday and TOTS and Futties. Then a nice clean break until next release. It’s not normal for everyone to be on as a slave everyday. FIFA isn’t dead. Or at least yet. Numbers wise and earnings wise they are still killing it because creators and EA hand in hand let store packs become the single most important thing. So it may not be the game for us old Unc’s anymore but the iPad kids want packs and dopamine. And when creators mainly show that as content often combined with a nice coin sponsor add, that’s the reason FIFA is dead. Nobody demanded a good football game the last 10 years, as long as the packs were flowing. So FIFA might be dead. But it didn’t die now. It died many years ago as a fun football game. 👎
