Earlier this week we put out a major press release about our real-time settlement technology (where we spent years specifically engineering around crypto & bearer tokens). There is +$1 trillion in futures initial margin sitting in clearinghouses to make the futures industry and commodity financing go round (commodity futures are not about retail speculation, its about risk transfer for producers totally exposed to top line price volatility with huge CAPEX costs). ‘ Commodity futures are key to every part of the fuel and food supply chains that effect our daily lives. So what is the composition of that $1T in margin collateral? What is its haircut for non cash assets? How fast can it move? This is not a small market or inefficiency. ID++ will help turn more assets than cash into HQLA, lower haircuts, faster asset movements, better risk management, lower cost of capital for the producers that make the world go round.

Update: Abaxx increased its position in Base Carbon to ~19.6% (~19.9% after Base share buyback program ends). Our total cost base on the position is ~$4mm, but cumulative royalty income and group cost synergies will net our cost base below zero in no time. Efficient market hypothesis is not a thing. With the right cost/access to capital we want to own as much as made sense before “the market” fully understands how good this team and business model is at Base (and with the financial flexibility post CORSIA in ‘26, the permanent capital real option to get into smart commodity streaming or other tech-synergistic upstream structuring with Abaxx FDT tech deployed). It’s actually been hiding in plain sight all along. Abaxx was a XX.xx stock ‘hiding in impatient-illiquidity’ as a 9.00 stock earlier this year, and in my personal opinion Base is a +2.00 stock that was ‘hiding in impatient-illiquidity’ for 0.40-1.00. Abaxx and Base have both turned over almost all of our impatient float now (and we’ve just seen what can happen with waves of new buyers and no more impatient sellers to be found). This start of October/Q4 marks the first time that Abaxx marginal-secondary share trades would price our Enterprise Value at greater than USD $1B. Well deserved for our backers, and what this team has been tirelessly building the past 6yrs through every setback, unexpected twists, turns, delays (and some missteps/ misestimates here and there :), etc. But I had total confidence that we should be re-rated over 1B EV (and was screaming it at the clouds in mid-August to anyone not on vacay)!
