Sad to see the passing of Coach Gatewood. Here’s the story I did for @SpectrumNews1TX during the Bulldogs run to the state semis last year, while he was fighting cancer.

Long time and recently retired McKinney North head baseball coach, JIM GATEWOOD, passed away this morning. Just last year he won his 446 game, while his team played in the State Semifinals The McKinney North baseball field was named after Coach Gatewood upon his retirement.

Congrats to @NorthDawgBSB Head Coach Jim Gatewood for being named Star Local Media All Areas Coach of the Year and @BradyShelton4 for being named 2nd Team Catcher. These two will be hard to replace!!

What a display of toughness this series! Nelson pitched Game 1, finishing the game after getting hit by a line drive early; Antosca and Bradley were tough at the plate in both games; Sayman battled to give us a quality Game 2; Busch, Pate, and Stockford closed it out for us!
