Sorry for the late response. Both teams had top-25 recruiting classes. However, some of the players who helped make UConn’s class a top-10 group—such as Azzi Fudd—did not play in that game, which lessens the impact of those rankings in that matchup. Iowa ultimately capitalized on facing two teams that weren’t at full strength in LSU and UConn during the 2024 NCAA Tournament, which played a role in their run to the national championship game.

@Jake_starr25 @Hawks_Wrestling Iowa won in 2021. Iowa dominated in the early years than PSU came to light. PSU will fall off and Iowa is chipping away. Lot of things to look forward to in Iowa city. Some high ranked guys coming in! Plus block/arnold/Angelo/kueter all returning next year will be top 5 guys!!

@Jake_starr25 @Hawks_Wrestling Angelo had 0 stall calls he was the aggressor. Iowa has 7 AA. And the 2 that didn’t were 1 takedown away. Brands took a lot of heat all season but the way they performed this weekend is amazing! Just look at brands and Arnold’s moment when he AA!

Iowa was a team with continuity. The players who appeared in that Final Four game for Iowa had two years of chemistry together. They were the more experienced team, and they were also the No. 1 seed.

No. We mean two. Kate Martin + Caitlin Clark are both in the WNBA. That makes two. Hannah Stuelke is a WNBA prospect and would bring that total to three if she’s drafted. For UConn, the trio is Paige Bueckers + Aaliyah Edwards + Nika Mühl. Once Stuelke makes it three, both programs will have: A top-5 recruit in the WNBA (Bueckers, Clark) A top-40 recruit in the WNBA (Edwards, Stuelke) An unranked recruit in the WNBA (Mühl, Martin) From their respective 2024 rosters.
