@HLTCO Because if we were listening to the VAR conversations the likes of Neville and Shearer wouldn’t be able to manipulate the narrative in favour of the officials.

Is there any reason why the commentators are allowed to hear the VAR conversations live whilst those watching on TV can’t? It would surely make sense to have the feed available to all? Is there a rule against it?

I love Marc Guehi but losing at Macclesfield and going on to pick up a winners medal feels wrong 😭😂 #CPFC

All the rule changes in the world won’t fix the issues we have with consistency and fairness. These are the types of idiots we have influencing decisions for the future of the game. Doomed.

Former referee Mark Clattenburg's proposed change to stop time-wasting in football: "Football is an entertainment sport, so we need as much playing time as possible. The first time I refereed in the Champions League, only 40 minutes of the 90 were actually played. "The two things I want to happen are that the referee has the power, instead of showing a yellow card to a player wasting time, to reverse the decision. If the player is instructed to take a throw-in and delays it, the throw should immediately go to the opposing team from that spot. "Often, players go to the sideline, bounce the ball, move it forward a long distance, wait for the referee to tell them to return to the original position, wait a little longer, are booked, and the referee writes down the sanction. Then, after about 10 more seconds, they take the throw-in. The player wins. They steal a minute doing that. Instead, if we had the option to reverse the sanction, without booking them, this wouldn't happen. "The other idea is the same but for goal kicks and corner kicks. If the attacker delays on purpose, the sanction is reversed, and they lose the corner, which becomes a goal kick. If the goalkeeper does the same, they go from having defensive control to conceding a corner."

VAR. Turn it off lads. Just turn it off. You've managed to destroy two leagues in 3 days.

This Southampton spying thing is total nonsense. They sent a kid up to film a Boro training session on his phone. So what? How much could they possibly find out from this? If Saints get chucked out it’s a complete joke.

Makes sense to go full strength tonight, do our best to end City’s title challenge and have a nice and relaxed final day against Arsenal #CPFC

@BBCMOTD In last year’s cup final City also got a penalty despite Mitchell clearly winning the ball. Not our fault they didn’t make the most of it like Palace did 💪🏻❤️💙

@WestHam_Central Presumably based on probability ie 85% of the time the team 2 points behind with two games to go gets relegated.

The foul on David Raya was obvious & is nothing like some of the goals Arsenal have scored from corners! Arsenal were pulled up three years ago at Leicester for holding the goalkeepers arm!! #MNF #WHUARS ⚽️📊

The @premierleague the best league in the world? It's certainly the best marketed league in the world, and now people are talking about it for all the wrong reasons, not the beauty but the pulling, pushing, holding , grappling etc The powers that be need to sort this out, next season I think we'll see a lot more penalties given as they need to eradicate what's happening.... thoughts ?

🤯 "I've had Mikel Arteta's face tattooed on my forearm." One devoted Arsenal supporter has taken his faith in Mikel Arteta to the next level by getting the manager's face tattooed on his forearm.

Just because there have been other contentious incidents at corners this season... Some involving Arsenal... It doesn't mean yesterday's wasn't a foul. Every incident has to be refereed on it's own merits. We can't be saying "Team A got away with one last week, so I won't give them this." Everyone is frustrated when there are blatant inconsistencies in refereeing, but EVERY incident has to be looked at fresh, without any bias or factoring in past history.
