You know what symbolizes Detroit just as much as Jared Goff? The Pistons broke the consecutive loss record and are now in playoff position 1 year later. The Tigers had a 0.2% chance to make the playoffs and not only did they make it, they won a series. So yea, I am going to hate on the Jared Goff chants. It was cute when the Lions were the only good team in the city. Now it’s not. Cade Cunningham is humble and determined, and dealt with as much adversity in his first years in the NBA as pretty much anyone else. Tarik Skubal was a late draft pick and just won the Cy Young. Not only is the chant annoying, it happens at awful times. Tim Hardaway is being taking off the court in a wheelchair, what does the crowd chant? Jared Goff. Jaden Ivey breaks his fibula and is taken out on a stretcher, 5 minutes later they are chanted for Goff. The Lions aren’t the only team that matters. When you’re at a game for another team in the city, chant their names, not the Lions QBs name. ✌️✌️
