Held a productive meeting with the Corporate Dairy Farmers Association and discussed modern farming practices, value-added dairy products, financing challenges, and future investment opportunities. We are focused on improving facilitation, strengthening implementation mechanisms, and creating a business-friendly environment to help the sector grow and compete globally.

Met with Philip Morris International delegation led by Marco Mariotti to discuss illicit trade and tobacco sector reforms. Illicit cigarette trade remains a major challenge, driven by weak enforcement and undocumented production. We are committed to stronger federal-provincial coordination, improved traceability, and fair regulation to support the formal sector. Enhanced enforcement will help unlock export potential, safeguard revenues, and ensure better returns for farmers.

A productive consultation with representatives of Pakistan Business Council and leading industrial stakeholders on tariff reforms, industrial sustainability, exports and manufacturing competitiveness. Reaffirmed that Pakistan’s trade and industrial policies must support long-term manufacturing growth, SMEs, fair competition and sustainable industrialization through balanced and consultative policymaking.

Held a constructive virtual meeting with Deputy USTR Rick Switzer to advance 🇵🇰🇺🇸 trade ties. Appreciated U.S. recognition of Pakistan’s role in regional peace. Reaffirmed commitment to a balanced, reciprocal & forward-looking trade framework to boost investment, connectivity & economic growth.

As Federal Minister for Commerce, I commend the successful conclusion of the EU–Pakistan Business Forum 2026.
