We wanted to share some of the progress we’ve seen during alpha so far, and give you a sneak preview of what we’re excited about early this year, especially around content and creator opportunities.
Since November, we’ve been investing more time in building and prototyping games with our internal studio team. To date, we’ve run 50k+ playtests.
This has given us some great insights into the creator journey, and also some initial benchmarks for how games perform on Jamango!.
As content volume has increased, we’ve also seen consistent improvement across our core platform metrics, largely driven by more games and a growing library:
Bounded retention
D1: 21% (up from 7% in June)
D7: 10% (up from ~0% in June)
Average session length
15+ mins (up from 6 mins in June)
Of course, during our alpha window player numbers are expected to remain relatively small - however, the direction is clear: better games lead to more players sticking around, playing longer, and coming back.
This is exactly the foundation we want in place as we move toward beta, and there are still a tonne of improvements we’re actively working on before launch.
So what does this mean for creators on Jamango!?
1/ The opportunity to create, establish yourself early, and grow alongside the platform is getting stronger every week. More creation = more games = more learning = more growth.
2/ Later this week, we’ll share details on our Beta Builders and Beta Bounties programs. These are focused on doubling down on content ahead of beta, with creator rewards and early access to monetisation for selected creators.
We’re excited for our beta launch and to build the leading browser-native UGC platform - designed from the ground up for accessible creation, instant play, and for anyone who want to be part of a community that celebrates real creativity!
