It feels about 7 years ago now but there were people questioning the decision to make John Mountney the Dundalk captain at the start of the season. It's fair to say it was one of the better decision made at Oriel Park in recent years though. If there were more like 'Our John' around the place, Dundalk would be in a much better place. To come back from two ACL injuries, to lead a dressing room through troubled times and to give it his all in every game, he can hold his head incredibly high. It's been some 12 seasons at the club for him from lows to incredible highs and back to the current low. Here's hoping there's another few years left in him at Oriel Park and that when his time comes to say goodbye, things are in a much better place.
