@James90909501 @TheodateChase I think the problem is her desire to look feminine is not constructed or artificial. Her appearance issues stem from her father, who views all the femme clothing as sinful. She's freely making choices for the first time and those choices are towards the feminine.

@James90909501 She can be (and is) high femme and still gay as hell. When she likes how she looks (dresses & makeup), she becomes distressed, not due to dysphoria but due to her having been taught that anything she enjoys is a sin, including attraction to women, dressing nice, being a wolf, etc

With the exception of Claremont, nothing before or after is at all comparable to what Ewing was doing with her. He truly understood this character and her importance within the narrative and the real world. More than anything he wasn’t afraid to write her like so many others are.

If Shaak Ti had to do stunts in the movie, it wouldn't have worked. They had to adapt the design to the stunts Ahsoka has to do in live action

She is always at her best without her flying brick powers. She's very emotionally intelligent and an incredible mentor for it. It's so intertwined with her ACTUAL mutant ability that is basically ignored. Also the Jim Lee costume is her worst one and I will DIE on that hill

@esrohthewest @KKF_WB This is the issue with fictionalized versions of cultures. Many of them in ATLA's case. The water tribe are not inuit because they aren't real, and also a mix of others anyway. So you have the surface level interest that is always a slippery slope to upsetting said culture.

@KKF_WB This isn’t a representation issue, it’s the fact that these tattoos are sacred practices and also customized to each person. A non-Inuit artist cannot draw them without misrepresenting them because the practice is closed and you will not understand how they’re designed.
