Mark Wahlberg was the only actor to receive an Oscar nomination for The Departed (2006). Despite being an "outsider" on a 2006 set full of legends, his improvised, foul-mouthed rants as Dignam stole every scene he was in.

@NYCanaries Well said. Let's also not forget the FA Youth Cup victory. Just because there isn't widespread access to someone's day-to-day calendar doesn't mean they haven't brought significant value to the club. The fixation by some that he's somehow been "stealing a living" is baffling.

He's been a brilliant servant to this club and is a lovely guy. Just because you don't constantly have someone's job description at hand or understand their role doesn't mean you get to assume, wrongly. People need to be better and wish Neil all the best in whatever is next #ncfc

@TulsaLange @jonrogerswriter I'd say Neil has more than earned his role, and if he was underperforming would have left some time ago. Certainly not against new faces shaking things up, and people can go stale in roles. But again, having interacted a bit with Neil, I know what a hard worker he is.

From the outside looking in, it does look like a 'Jobs for Mates' situation there. It's about time things were freshened up.

This should've happened a long time ago. From the outside looking in, its always felt as though Neil Adams is simply stealing a living at #NCFC. To be honest though, the club have never helped matters as they've never explained what he actually does day to day.

@TulsaLange @jonrogerswriter I can't say I study club statements that closely. But I continue to be surprised at the perception that Neil Adams is somehow doing nothing of value at the club.

@JamesBigg @jonrogerswriter Stephan Van Der Heyden's role at the club is completely different to Neil's and you know that. If we go along with that theory, then how come Lee Dunn is always referenced alongside Knapper in club statements but not Neil? The club have made Neil look like he's an errand boy.

@TulsaLange @jonrogerswriter Because Knapper is the department lead, and therefore the one accountable. The same way we don't get statements from Stephan Van Der Heyden on first team performances.

As I've said elsewhere, when the club release a statement which does involve Neil's 'department', how come he never gets referenced alongside Knapper?

He's a hard worker, talented guy, and great knowledge. To be fair, Betty MIGHT actually be stealing a living...

@Ian_M1 No lie - I remember Five Live describing this in the moment as a "amazing mazy run by Newsome, and a powerful shot into the top corner." I remember thinking "wow - gotta watch that on MOTD tonight!" Reality was somewhat disappointing.

It wasn't the fans who texted the manager to make himself unavailable. Nor was it the fans who banished him - correctly - to the U21s. For a striker who started life at Norwich missing open goals, sad to see him end it by doing it again from a PR standpoint. #NCFC

The Norwich injury jinx continues. Only goal now is to carefully manage the remaining players - and get to 50 points. Which I think they'll do. But serious questions have to be asked why so many muscle injuries keep happening if we're not going to repeat this come August...
