@shagbark_hick Windmill energy generation is pure virtue signaling, unless it's an intermittent setup like on an off-grid farm.

If you absolutely had to pick, would you rather live within eyeshot of windmills or solar farms? Assume that if living near the windmills, you wouldn't be close enough to hear them or get the "blinking shadow effect" into your windows.

@TomTSEC Anyone who actually worked from 2015-2026 could see the rising levels of woke/DEI/feminist ideology and its consequences on productivity. It’s still rising.

@g_br_l They lack moral training, not work experience. The latter is often a tax.

boomer take: I think one of the problems with the current generation of SF startups is that they are (mostly) founded by people with no real work experience. a lot of them are trying to solve problems for an environment that is completely alien to them: workplaces outside of SF.

@ruthdelioncourt @DaveWThinker I wouldn’t be surprised if many of the common female diseases are connected to birth control pills. I mean, that’s a drastic med to be taking at all, much less for many years. But they’ll fund research to say the opposite.

Watching old movies and listening to old music is to be a constant voyeur for content that wasn't meant for you. The whole purpose of Steven Spielberg's Jaws was to sell movie tickets for a few weeks in the summer of 1975. Everything that came after is just incidental.

Someone should start a bookstore+coffee chain that sells books that have stood the test of time. No pop slop. Comfortable leather chairs. Carpet. Wood. 5 coffee choices, not 50.

Scripture presents one Church founded by Christ and repeatedly commands visible unity in faith, sacraments, and communion. Divisions receive sharp rebuke. Step by step from the texts: Matthew 16:18 records Jesus saying, “I will build my church,” using the singular. He immediately grants Peter the keys and authority to bind and loose, establishing a visible structure with clear leadership. In John 17:20-23 Jesus prays to the Father for all future believers: “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” The unity is trinitarian in pattern, visible enough to serve as evidence to outsiders, and non-optional. Paul confronts real divisions in 1 Corinthians 1:10-13. He writes, “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” Some claimed “I follow Paul,” others “Apollos,” “Cephas,” or “Christ.” Paul calls this outlook carnal and immature in 1 Corinthians 3:3-4 and asks, “Is Christ divided?” Ephesians 4:3-6 gives the positive standard: “eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all.” These seven unities define the Church’s identity. Additional passages treat division as sin. Romans 16:17 warns, “watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.” Titus 3:10 instructs to warn a divisive person once or twice, then have nothing more to do with him. First Corinthians 12:25 insists there be “no division in the body.” Galatians 5:20 lists “divisions” and “factions” among the works of the flesh. The early Church knew factions and heresies, yet the apostles treated them as deviations to be corrected or avoided, not as legitimate parallel structures. The one Church under apostolic authority was the norm. These passages, read together, support with high confidence the conclusion that permanent, doctrinally distinct Christian groups contradict the biblical requirement of one faith and one body. The Catholic Church reads the same texts as identifying the one Church Christ founded with the Catholic communion that preserves apostolic succession, the full deposit of faith, and visible governance from Peter and the apostles onward. Other bodies retain partial truth and valid elements but stand outside the full visible unity Scripture demands. The Bible’s teaching is therefore straightforward: Christ gave one Church; His followers must keep it one.

@JamesDueck @littleflower673 Neither "Catholic" nor "denomination" cannot be found in the bible. Weird coincidence.
