This is exactly why where you work in the early stage of your career cannot be reduced to just salary. Money matters, of course, but the experience and exposure you gain in those formative years shape how you think, what you believe is possible, and the kind of risks you are willing to take later. Early environments set your ceiling. If you spend your first few years in places where ambition is small, process is rigid, and innovation is treated as disruption rather than opportunity, you internalise those limits. But when you find yourself in rooms where people are building, experimenting, and solving problems at scale, something shifts. Your sense of what is normal expands. You learn how decisions are made, how resources move, how bold ideas are funded, and how failure is absorbed. Those lessons compound over time in ways that salary alone never could. The hardest part is that this advantage may be invisible when you are young. You think you are just taking a job. In reality, you are choosing the environment that will shape your instincts, your confidence, and your long-term trajectory. Do all you can to be in that environment. 📟
