@Humanheadhunter I've gone freelance / done consulting after layoffs a couple of times (Great Recession and during early Covid). Sometimes the job market just isn't there and you need to wait it out by picking up whatever projects you can.

My prediction - A slew of new consultants and content creators. Easiest thing to become when you're laid off... A career coach or “independent consultant”

Say what everyone else won't say. And do what they're not doing. These are the foundations of PR success.

I'm a Celtics fan and I would be totally ok with counting that 3/4 court shot from Embiid and going to OT. Damn!

Gimmicks may work for a little bit, but substance lasts forever. Once you have it, you're in a much better place to take advantage of new opportunities.

Exactly 1 year ago, I wrote my first post on LinkedIn. It blew up. A few months later, I figured Twitter out. Now I have 51k followers across both platforms + massive credibility + a profitable side hustle. All I did was follow these 4 writing principles:

Dear advertisers, Nostalgia is great. It really is. But it's not enough to make a boring commercial into an interesting one. Be more creative. Thanks, - All of us. #SuperBowl #Advertising

If you've already maxed out every other area of your marketing, sure, do it. If an idea will create enough buzz to make it profitable, go for it. But I'd rather reach an audience in a targeted way, with content they care about, and spread the money out.

7. Create a CSR initiative to give back to a relevant cause → That money could do a lot of good → E.g. covering college for 43,750 kids or provide 70M meals

How much is a Super Bowl ad worth? For the first time in 30+ years, beer brands not owned by Anheuser-Busch advertised during it. It declined to reup exclusivity. Pepsi didn't sponsor the halftime show for the first time in a decade. Big advertisers are questioning it.

@WillAllred117 That's how it goes with every company that gets funding in my experience. You suddenly get put on the map and you become top-of-mind, for good and bad. (And congrats btw!)

@dingraps 30-50 comments a day is doable for most creators. If you're already scrolling the feed, it doesn't take much extra time to leave a comment and it's a relationship-building exercise.

tested a week not spamming comments on linkedin and my reach sank the sauce: leave 30-50 comments/day, with at least 10 being multiple paragraphs and look long af you can't fail doing this this is unreasonable for solo creator but doable for a dedicated social media manager
