As a great fan of the O’Brian books and of actual English naval history there is something quite depressing about the reporting live on BBC news of the supplying of a single naval ship that is to go to Cyprus … at some point.

I hear you on money. But I just had lunch here with my son: two fryups, tea, fizzy water: £20. London Zone 2. And it meant I could leave a 20% tip without it being a thing. Just go out. It doesn’t have to be Michelin. (In fact Michelin general sucks).
