Wexford man James Ryan, born 130 years ago today, was studying medicine at UCD when he joined the IRB. He treated James Connolly’s wounds during the 1916 Rising, was elected as Sinn Féin TD for Wexford in 1918, and became a Brigade Commandant in the IRA and an anti-Treaty TD. 1/4
