"An extraterrestrial being, newly arrived on Earth - scrutinizing what we mainly present to our children in television, radio, movies, newspapers, magazines, the comics, and many books - might easily conclude that we are intent on teaching them murder, rape, cruelty, superstition, credulity, and consumerism. We keep at it, and through constant repetition many of them finally get it." ― Carl Sagan The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark

Cable started out being à la carte pricing, and no commercials. Then they bundled the channels so you had to buy them all together. Then they added back the commercials. It became a shittier TV with ads that you pay over a hundred dollars a month to watch. There’s a reason TV news constantly teases you with the next “shocking” segment or heartwarming puppy story. They know that watching ads every 7.5 minutes sucks and every time they cut away they lose part of their audience. Even if it was free. Now make it even shittier by biasing every story into anti-American propaganda. No thanks.

"We’ve also reinvented the climate. Once, it was a word for the local weather of robins and sparrows. Now it's a global ideological abstraction. We’ve lost our admiration for the natural world. We count CO2 in ppm while ignoring the satellite-proven greening of the Sahara."
Peter Clack@PeterDClack

The entire heat capacity of the atmosphere is equal to the top 3.5 meters of the oceans. The remaining 3,700m of the abyss is Earth’s true thermal vault. The truth is, the Earth is a water planet and oceans cover 71% of the surface to an average depth of 2.3 miles. Ocean currents carry warm water from the mid tropics to the northern hemisphere, then the currents return after a round trip of 1,000 years. Without these currents northern Europe would look like Greenland. Warm waters from the Roman warm period (240BC to 400AD) are still just returning to the mid latitudes. The atmosphere by comparison is a gaseous envelope that retains almost no thermal energy, hardly any CO2 and is largely controlled by ocean dynamics. The deep Pacific itself is so massive that it is only now receiving the cold waters from the Little Ice Age. We aren't starting from scratch, we are mid-cycle in a 4.6-billion-year-old machine. We’ve also reinvented the climate. Once, it was a word for the local weather of robins and sparrows. Now it's a global ideological abstraction. We’ve lost our admiration for the natural world. We count CO2 in ppm while ignoring the satellite-proven greening of the Sahara. It’s time to move past the light breezes and offshore winds and look into the deep. Ask yourself, is the 1.4°C warming since 1850 really an unprecedented crisis? The physics says the ocean runs the game.

Do you want a glimpse at how generous our government is going to be when they force us all on universal income, just look at how they're treating TSA Agents who are now eating from donated can goods donated to them at Airports and food pantries. Look at what they're doing to FEMA during all of the storms. They're preventing the general public from being helped with emergency food and shelter. Look at what's happening today in Hawaii. There is no FEMA emergency shelter, water or food to help them.

The Human Rights Campaign! Sounds great. I support human rights. But @robbystarbuck says the HRC “has nothing to do with actual human rights.” They push "transgenderism into the workplace and support sex changes for kids.” And big companies subscribe:

The fake music industry “star maker” system was broken before AI. The last two decades of “popular” manufactured music and puppets to “play” it ended the moment AI song making tools were released. This guy did some illegal things but shows the “behind the curtain” realties of the current system. All of these platforms use machine made music for quite a while now the monopoly is broken. Next stop? The Napster moment where they take of the mask and just admit it’s all now just AI channels playing AI music, and unfortunately many listeners just won’t care. As many have been dulled to the power of the emotions in music.
Tuki@TukiFromKL

🚨 Do you understand what this man just pulled off.. > a guy from North Carolina used AI to generate hundreds of thousands of songs.. uploaded them to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon.. then botted billions of streams on his own tracks and walked away with $8 million > 660,000 fake streams per day.. spread across thousands of AI songs so nobody noticed.. $1.2 million a year.. for music no human ever actually listened to real artists are out here grinding for 0.003 cents per stream.. promoting on TikTok.. begging for playlist placements.. and this guy just had AI make the music AND the audience first-ever criminal streaming fraud case.. he's paying back $8 million.. but the playbook is out there now.. and AI just got better since he started the music industry spent 10 years fighting piracy.. now they have to fight songs that don't exist being listened to by people who don't exist.

Except that even if I quit here, doesn't mean I quit anywhere else. In fact, I have more time & energy to do more in the real world. So, it's not about quitting at all, it's about using your & my time more wisely. This platform doesn't care if I'm here, punishes me when I am, so, find better places to use my time.

I honestly don't know who needs to hear this today, but I'm saying it anyway and I'm praying the algorithm pushes it straight to the hearts of everyone feeling broken right now. I see the defeat in every "I'm done" comment, every "I quit," every "I've had enough." I feel the weight of it. Ask yourself one brutal, honest question: What happens the moment you walk away? When you quit, the story ends exactly where the enemy wants it to end. Right at the edge of your breaking point. The scoreboard freezes with them ahead. And worst of all? You teach yourself that surrender is an option. Once you let that lesson sink in, it becomes easier the next time. And the time after that. Until one day you look back and realize the version of you who could've changed everything...never showed up because you stopped showing up for yourself. But what happens if you keep grinding? You cross the invisible line most people never see. The line between "I can't" and "Watch me." You discover that exhaustion isn't the end, it's the doorway. On the other side of total depletion is a strength you didn't know existed. A quieter, harder, unbreakable version of you. The kind that doesn't need applause to keep moving. The kind that fights because quitting would be a betrayal of everything you've already survived. You've already come this far. Think about that. You've already eaten the doubt, swallowed the setbacks, carried the weight when it felt impossible. You've already tested your limits more than you realize. And if you haven't truly hit your absolute wall yet, if you haven't pushed until every muscle screamed and every excuse evaporated then you are not allowed to quit. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever. Quitting before you've emptied the tank is just cheating yourself out of the victory that's waiting on the other side. People ask me for advice constantly. The question is always the same. "What's your secret?" My answer has never changed. Exhaust yourself completely. Run the tank dry. Push until your lungs burn, your mind begs for mercy, and your body says no more. Then take one more step. That's where the real work begins. That's where you meet the person you were always meant to be the one who doesn't flinch when the world gets ugly, who doesn't fold when the odds stack higher, who looks failure in the face and says, "Fck you, Not today." Never give up. No matter how loud the voice in your head screams to stop. No matter how tempting it is to scroll away, log off, disappear. Never accept failure as final. Failure is feedback. Defeat is data. Pain is the price of entry for anything worth having. So here's the truth I want you to tattoo on your soul today. This moment, the one where everything feels lost is not the end of your story. It's the chapter that separates the talkers from the warriors. It's the forge where average gets burned away and unbreakable gets born. Get back up. Post again. Fight again. Believe again. Grind again. Because the comeback you're about to make isn't just for you, it's for every single person watching who thinks they've lost too. It's proof that you can be knocked flat, feel the theft of something sacred, stare into the void...and still rise. You've got more in you than you know. Far more. So exhaust it. Show the world and yourself what you're truly made of. The best version of you isn't waiting on the other side of comfort. It's waiting on the other side of this. Now go get it.

One of the coolest prompts : Prompt: A black and white photograph shows the blurred silhouette of a [SUBJECT] behind a frosted or translucent surface. The [PART] is sharply defined and pressed against the surface, creating a stark contrast with the rest of the hazy, indistinct figure. The background is a soft gradient of gray tones, enhancing the mysterious and artistic atmosphere
