@byelin @DrewSav Agreed but how? Good gov groups will need to find the disaffected GOP and Dems in states and try to cobble together a coalition. But they haven't had much success with the GOP...why that would change now IDK.

A few stray thoughts on Callais: 1. Kind of annoying that SCOTUS gave no guidance on timing. If a State that already had a filing deadline tried to redistrict and reopened filing, would that be ok? Unclear to me. 2. In the long run, if Dems are persuaded that more Dem seats is better than more majority black seats, then the effects of this decision will probably cancel out. But that, to me, is a bad outcome. I think there's some value in trying to give Maryland Republicans and Kansas Democrats a voice in Congress, even for things like disaster funding. We should ban partisan gerrymandering nationally, and come up with a clear standard that prioritizes compactness, natural boundaries, and continuity of communities.

Politics requires leadership. Davey needs to step up.
