@medicaccountant Complex as staff costs often > global sum so would still be out of pocket, needs same uplift to ESs and other contracts too. Backdating will be a problem, esp as July tax instalments due this month. No easy solution on top of already stretched finances.

Some GP partners are overpaying tax ! I’ve seen too many tax returns where NHS pension contributions treatment is wrong. See attached pic for a quick way to see if your return is correct. Tax of £3k overpaid in this fictional example.

@KMacca1977 @wesstreeting And yet some GP partners earn less than the Nurses they employ. The grass isn’t always greener. Not forgetting that nurses are sometimes partners as well.

Labour will be consulting on phasing out the GP partnership model in favour of salaried GPs (and more of them), more ‘front doors’ to the NHS in primary care.
The current system is stretched to breaking point. We are thinking radically.
