@TheStatsKid1523 @dweplea Why torture yourself with such horrific imagery when we have the AI rubbish to come in a short bit.
English

@James_McCaghrey @dweplea Sorry I just imagined Danny Morrison screaming this at the top of his lungs on the mic
English

@TheStatsKid1523 @dweplea "And the crowd roars as another long hop is mishit to midwicket for a single"
English

@James_McCaghrey @dweplea KKR batting who's disabled vs spin against an out-of-form Noor and Akeal who's only 2 IPL games old should be fun
English

A reminder, you can only win the award once, hence the lack of English test players.
Saif Zaib probably unlucky but bar that pretty decent.

@himganj153 The no ball is pretty cool
Shows batters have no idea
English

@TheStatsKid1523 And with more wide balls you get more reviews.
English

Going to become a rising problem with the rising run rates
Balls per wide (IPL season)
2026: 18
2025: 20
2024: 19
2023: 23
2022: 20
2021: 27
Add in the wide reviews and it adds on so much time.
Himanish Ganjoo@himganj153
Yesterday's RCB vs MI match had a whopping 262 balls!
English

@TheStatsKid1523 Yeah it definitely is
Especially with modern batters being so strong leg side.
English

@James_McCaghrey Could it possibly be because a lot of teams are looking to go to wide-line bowling (esp for pacers with their yorkers) as a mode of containing runs in this era of IPL roads?
English

@AP_RM7 SRH collapsed against the mighty RR of course
Kochi was against the Deccan Charges, who defended 129 by bowling Kochi out for 74.
Jadeja might be having flashbacks, he came in at 6/5 there and made 23 (35).
English

Now for the 5th wicket
Kochi Tuskers: 6/5 (3.1) 2011
Rajasthan Royals: 9/5 (3) TODAY
RCB: 17/5 (5.2) 2014
SRH: 19/5 (4.4) 2013
Horrific
James McCaghrey@James_McCaghrey
Joint worst start in the IPL Kochi Tuskers: 2/4 (1.5) in 2011 Rajasthan: 2/4 (1.4) TODAY
English

@dweplea Hopefully it will improve his death bowling, going at over 11 the last couple of year.
26 of his 4 death overs this year so far
Not including his final 7 run over vs MI in the rain shortened match
English

@MatthewDaubney Think there'd be worries we'd see lots of 3rd Innings stapadding.
You'd need to massively increase the points for a win as well.
English

@dweplea Assuming it's a case of most bowlers don't target the stumps as much as they should.
But the ones who do it most have other good attributes such as weird angles. And like most plans, it's a bell curve of effectiveness not just a linear of more =better
English

This just goes to show why a good partnership is important, you play to each others strengthens and you cover for each others weaknesses
And this also goes to show why you never judge a player purely on runs scored.
Salt is crucial to Virat playing well.
Some of you might recall James old account which he built up, it’s been hacked so please follow his new account.
James McCaghrey@James_McCaghrey
Since Phil Salt started opening for RCB, Kohli has faced just 15% of spin balls in the powerplay. From 2021-24, that number was 26% Salt scores at 269 vs Spin in the powerplay during that time. Even when he doesn't score many runs, he is aiding Kohli.
