In Chapter 5, we use a sports dashboard example to show a better AI workflow: ChatGPT helps frame the analysis. Copilot helps build inside Power BI. Power BI is where you validate the model, measures, filters, and story.

A useful Power BI dashboard does not start with a chart. It starts with the question: What should the user understand or decide? 1/1

In Chapter 4 of Smart Dashboards with Power BI, ChatGPT, and Copilot, we show how ChatGPT helps clarify the story, Copilot helps build faster, and Power BI turns the idea into a working dashboard.

Most dashboards don’t fail because the software is weak. They fail because nobody decided what the user should notice first. That’s the 10-second test: Can someone understand the main message fast enough to act?

A polished dashboard can still be wrong. If the source data is messy, the transformation logic is weak, or the model is shaky, better visuals won’t save it.

A dashboard can be full of useful data and still fail. Why? That is one of the big ideas in Chapter 2 of Smart Dashboards with Power BI, ChatGPT, and Copilot. The best dashboards are designed around decisions, not just information. Click here: tinyurl.com/yfbbrbyc

An education dashboard becomes much more valuable when it helps answer: What needs attention before this gets worse? One of the examples in Chapter 1 of Smart Dashboards with Power BI, ChatGPT, and Copilot. More detail: tinyurl.com/2p9t2xwu

Bayline Press is still early, but the mission is clear: build a better path for meaningful books to get made and reach readers. More here: tinyurl.com/3eja2vjc

Now we are working on something very different as well: a children’s book coming this fall that we hope helps kids see that challenges can be overcome.

We recently put that model to work with Smart Dashboards with Power BI, ChatGPT, and Copilot, which went from idea to publication in less than six months.

For us, AI is not the story. It is the leverage. It helps reduce friction in reviewing, editing, refining, packaging, and publishing strong work.

Too many worthwhile books get stuck in slow, outdated publishing workflows and never get a real chance. We saw an opportunity to build differently.

Some of the best books never fail in the market. They fail in the process. That is one of the reasons we started Bayline Press.

Most dashboard problems aren’t visual. They are upstream: 1. messy data models 2. inconsistent definitions 3. too much logic in the report layer Fix the foundation, and the dashboard often fixes itself.

Dashboards don’t fail because of bad data. They fail because they try to answer too many questions at once. The best ones answer one question fast: “What’s happening right now?” More details: tinyurl.com/2r346hw4

Most dashboards fail because they show too much. The best ones answer one question fast: What’s happening right now? In one SaaS dataset I worked with, a single churn spike erased months of customer growth. That example ended up shaping a chapter: tinyurl.com/2r346hw4
