Your parents are poor that's why you had to move out quickly calling it growing up when it's just struggling If they were not poor, you would stay as long as you want, most likely till when you're start your own family

The thing about social economic breakdown is that it manifests everywhere. You can't run away from it. This is not merely a nduthi or hawker problem. This is what happens when you reduce life to survival. People do anything to survive including ignoring social order.
Nyaga_9️⃣@Nyaga_9

Mahali inaelekea hii Kenya itabidi footbridges zikiundwa ziwekwe space ya nduthi, biashara na pedestrians. Ju hii nchi pedestrians hatuna haki, every space made for us wengine wanaitumia venye wanataka.

People sometimes ask me on this platform “why are you so angry?” Well, I was a teen in the 80’s. Cities were clean and safe, even small towns had banks, pharmacies, sports clubs, working infrastructure and especially railway towns boomed and flourished. I could walk to skool and ride my bike anywhere, sometimes I camped overnight in the veld next to our house that had no fences. I fought for my country at the age of 18 and proudly gave two years of my life. I have seen how cites and towns became shitholes after ‘94. I have seen how world class infrastructure got neglected and broken down while a connected few got filthy rich. I have seen how people die in dirty beds and hallways of once world class hospitals. I have seen how people fence themselves into their own homes while violent crime spirals out of control. I have had my house and cars broken in to and family members assaulted. Like many, I have had to find a better future and better options for my kids outside SA. So yes, I’m fucking angry.

There will never again be a South Africa like South Africa in the 80's.

Before you cut down a tree, sit down for a very long time and reflect. "Modernity does not create life, so we should be very careful not to replace life with death in our mad pursuit of modernity." - Prof. Salingaros, The Triumph of Nihilism ✍🏿🪔🏘 Photos: @chriskost One day we will ask, where did all the Jacarandas go?

Kikuyu Kenya power office at 2:15pm on a working day @KenyaPower_Care @gk_ruku . Over 10 people waiting to be served and no one is here. One lady(public servant) stood and drove away. Pathetic customer service. Why do we pay these people?

It’s crazy how Zimbabweans brag about things that don't help them. You brag that our industry is bigger than Lesotho’s, but so what? That industry doesn't benefit you at all. No stable currency, no jobs, and zero hope just vibes while the country rots. The fact that Zimbabweans are running to Lesotho just to survive is proof enough that they are miles ahead of us. You don't see Basotho coming here because there’s nothing for them. Face it: ZANU PF is a party for idiots. They are holding the whole nation back. Just admit it Zimbabwe should be a top economy in SADC, but thanks to this mess, we’re nothing but a laughingstock.

Nigerians always allow other African countries to shit on them. I have visited a few Sub-Saharan African countries, and outside of South Africa, there is no other country as urbanized or with as widespread infrastructure as Nigeria. Most other countries are one city nations.

@TheLanderMan A Spanish archeologist posted this photo on X after concluding his working visit to Somaliland today. Is this the image we are portraying to the world? City centre streets with no drainage, makeshift buildings everywhere, street vendors occupying the entire road. It’s ugly.

@kenyanpundit Anyone supporting Ruto’s government and saying “tutam” must be subjected to tests to determine mental health. No sane person can support this kleptocratic government just because they have decided they will burn our money on shinny stuff instead of tangible things that help pple
