Alternatively, people who are overweight, don’t train, but were formerly athletic when younger. Minimum weight limits, and 6 months of just drinking and eating in a hot country before hand. Decathlon. I will take one for the team and sign up. Then 6 months later of monitored professional training. No doping, in an elite environment. This is starting to sound more like a Netflix series than a sport, but again, sign me up.

I’m not saying this to slight anybody, btw. I just have a thorough belief that when you look at the elite Sporting Directors, Head of etc, you tend to find many skills which overlap. Analytic thinking, applied strategy, academic research and yes, related sport experience. Baseballs best operators for example Theo Epstein (San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, MLB), Jeff Greenberg (Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Tigers), Justin Hollander (Seattle Mariners) etc all graduated from Law School. Sunny Mehta (NJ Devils, Washington Capitals), Haralabos Voulgaris (Dallas Mavericks) and Ted Knutsen (Statsbomb co-founder, current DoF at Crux) all have top experience with poker, sports betting and strategy games. Skill-sets which heavily overlap.

I once again urge you, please do not conflate Sporting Directors with coaches. In its most effectively applied form it is a strategic management role, with very little direct football input on a day to day basis. You want people who can formulate strategy, build structures and combine professional experiences with personal integrity.

AEW needs to drop Stadium Stampedes/Anarchy in the Arenas for a couple of years. I’m all for factions at war, but it feels like it’s overused to just get people time. Great show. The actual production of the Enhanced Games is pretty good. They’ve just missed on the obvious point - if you’re THE ENHANCED GAMES, you’ve got to tell us specifically what their usage was when they participate, and you’ve got to provide clear reference of performance related to WRs.
