Spectacular side by side racing @RichmondRaceway as @DaleJr and @JeffGordonWeb battle for the lead in 2003. Also, pay attention to the commentary towards the end. Everyone at the time agreed this car/track type was the formula for great stock car racing. We obviously went in a different direction in the years following.

I don't understand why we can't build these with modern safety advances... 🤷

He was pressing for his eighth career @PoconoRaceway victory, but @dennyhamlin has to settle for second today. That is the No. 11's sixth top-two finish of 2025.

@nascar_opinion Been this way since they restricted the engine , they took 1/3 hp away and the car weighs the same

Everyone keeps getting blinded by Larson's dominance. Nobody cares about the 5 being dominant. Quit overlooking the facts: - There was no tire wear. - There was 1 natural caution. - Outside of traffic, very little passing. These all make for a bad race. Not one guy leading.

Here's a thought.. Move the spring Bristol race to Wilkesboro in doing so it accomplishes a couple things. First, fans have asked for a points race. Second, SMI can operate a smaller facility with the same staff while keeping the same fan set, similar number of ticket sales and a capacity crowd at NWS.

Less than 150 laps to go. There has been ONE lead change so far today. If that holds, it would tie for the fewest at Bristol since a Cale Yarborough win in 1976.

@SpotterBrett Start by taking the taper spacer off a 3700lb car on short tracks

Hats off to whoever made that 5 car that fast. I have a rant. I may not may not go on it. And we gotta put more asses in the seats at Bristol. Idc how we do it. I had fun and am proud of how Jesse did. Great debut with 20 laps of practice under his belt.

@jeff_gluck The struggle is watching restrictor plate racing on short tracks with a 3700lb car

With no in-car audio on the Max cameras and just the repetitive, soothing sound of the engines revving on the short straightaways...it's a struggle at the moment. Woof. 💤

Had the final 50 laps in the cup race at Bristol been based on 4th quarter median lap speed data alone, this is roughly where the top 15 fastest cars would've finished on track Cars are too identical without tire wear to separate Also, sorry Blaney fans

@jeff_gluck I think the taper spacer racing has played its course on short tracks with 3700 lb race cars

Kyle Larson wins his second straight Bristol race in completely dominating fashion again, leading 400+ laps for the second time in a row. He was one spot short of a Bristol triple this weekend.
