Very niche Doctor Who tweet – but wondering whether the CU of the Doctor’s eye from the Guardians of the Edge sequence is an unused shot from War of the Sontarans? Look at how curly her hair is compared to the other shots (which would match with WOTS because of rain on location).

Thanks so much to 'The Power of the Doctor' director Jamie Magnus Stone for popping into the stream chat to confirm trivia! Annetta Laufer ('Eve of the Daleks' director) shot Paul McGann's dialogue as he filmed on a different day. And the Cyberman + Dalek glance was unscripted.

It was Jamie Magnus Stone's idea to put a Sontaran on a horse for 'War of the Sontarans'. Stone photoshopped a Sontaran toy on a horse to present his idea to Chris Chibnall. ~ Doctor Who Magazine

@TrilbeeReviews Haha. Good spot. Our colourist Christine used slowed down footage of ink and milk dispersing in water to get that moving reddish streaky sky.

@TimelessOwen @RobinWhenary Thank you. It was fun shooting from the hip on this one. I don’t think we even shot listed very much. The closest thing we had to storyboards was the occasional photo test. Here’s one testing the mirrored beach trick

@RobinWhenary Thank you for replying, Robin! Wow, that is *seriously* impressive because there’s so many beautiful shots in Village of the Angels! It’s clear you and Jamie have put a lot of love and care into this project and I would love to see you two back to Doctor Who again!

I really want to see the storyboard for Village of the Angels because the scenes where Claire gets her wings and the Doctor turns into a Weeping Angel were visually striking and powerful imagery that stuck in my head for ages.
