This Labour government will close all asylum hotels for good.

Net migration has fallen 82%. I promised to restore control to our borders. My government is delivering. I know there’s more to do, we’re introducing a skills-based migration system that rewards contribution and ends our reliance on cheap overseas workers.

My government will end the status quo that has failed working people. We will build a stronger, fairer Britain.

The King’s Speech set out Labour’s plan to deliver change faster and give security, fairness and opportunity to working people across Britain. It was an honour to take part in this historic tradition as Lord Chancellor.

Nigel Farage should not survive the undeclared £5Million donation. It’s a step up from a new pair of glasses, don’t you think? Is Farage owned?

We’re still waiting for the full picture, but there’s no doubt that these election results are bitterly disappointing for Labour in London.

These are tough election results for Labour and I’m sorry to all of those colleagues who have lost their seats. Keir Starmer won a mandate to change our country. We must get on with delivering that mandate - and show how politics can improve people’s lives for the better.

The Tories wrecked the country in large part due to the constant churn in Prime Minsters and Ministers. We owe it to our constituents to not do the same. We won’t deliver for our communities with what has become typical political infighting. The PM is going nowhere, quite rightly. We can only deliver with stability of leadership. Country first!
