Chelsea offered £117m for Rogers in an owner-to-owner deal. 2 days later, Aston Villa signed Garnacho from them on a 4-year deal with an obligation to buy at £42.67m. That puts the Morgan Rogers take-home at £74.33m. £6m less than Arsenal's Rogers valuation. Good job Arsenal's ownership stuck to their value... because the Chelsea valuation had another deal baked into it. Chelsea, not the biggest club in London, but probably the best at working the system.

Morgan Rogers went to Chelsea because, 1. They offered ridiculous money as always to him / his team 2. Arsenal wouldn’t pay what Villa wanted it’s fine to admit that Arsenal were his number 1 but the move didn’t materialise, but let’s not say he CHOSE them over us😂

Some will say that Chelsea and Aston Villa are circumventing the FFP rules with this transaction. They probably will be in the PL — but only if the PL lets them. And the UEFA will surely see through this. And ultimately for both these clubs, it’s UEFA’s response that matters. I don’t get why the PL don’t enforce its rules, though.
