Average return to play for athletes is 4 months, so he will be cutting it close. Thunder tend to be conservative with their return to play protocols, especially for a team that has proven they can win at a high level without their stars.

@Jamison_350 Almost a decade younger, we'll see. Thunder tend to be real conservative with estimates and they led with expected back for the start of the season, so that gives me a lot of confidence.

@SteveThunderfan Best bet is to look at Middleton from 2022, as most guys got this earlier in the spring. Middleton missed time to start the season after getting the surgery in July.

Was trying to see how Kenrich's surgery went, he had his surgery in March 2023 and what seems like a routine second surgery to remove hardware in May, but unfortunately he also had a knee scope in September and missed the start of the season lol so hard to tell really.

Most common wrist ligaments torn in basketball players are the scapholunate ligament and the TFCC complex. Both take 3-6 months to return to play after surgery. With Presti’s confidence that Dub will be ready by October, looks like the medical team is pushing for sooner return

Here is a picture for visual people. Another player with turf toe requiring surgery is Darius Garland, who got this surgery 2 weeks ago and projections are 4-5 months until return to play.

Thomas Sorber underwent surgical repair of a turf toe on 2/26. Return to play average is ~3-6 months for this surgery, so this puts him in the gray area to play in the summer league in July, as that will be 4-5 months out from surgery.
