Hi all! This publication, edited by Juliette Flecheux and published by Editions 205, is bilingual — FR & EN. I wrote a pre-chapter: Can the development of Dutch type design education in The Netherlands, esp. at KABK in The Hague, be compared to the French pioneer Scriptorium?

@Erin_Type Does all this confuse or frustrate you, or are you fascinated? I’m afraid I don’t understand money trade enough or find it too asocial to look into it. Worse: I want to write stuff that makes changes, and if the budget is $500 for a month of work, I try to ignore the problem.

@JanMiddendorp Globalization and the internet, the "learn to code" and "metaverse" economy, has made it so that people anywhere on earth can engage in "capitalism" if they have a computer. The money is actually moving around already, but perhaps some are unaware of this.

What if "capitalism" is just the natural state of the world? People living on & defending areas of land? Owning tools & objects? Using, trading, & making things out of resources? What if nothing comes "after" it? All that changes is who owns & controls the resources & land? 🤔😉

@yanone I find that morally right. But I am pretty sure that bringing it 100% into practice could lead to more racist violence, and in various countries may cause enough votes for an extreme-right government. Sorry!

One more time for the people in the back: It doesn’t matter how far away a war is. What matters is to treat all of their refugees to the same HIGH standard in the future.

@yanone There are thousands of Syrians in Berlin, escaped from their sadist government, many of them totally integrated. Isn’t it logic to now think mostly about the equally illogical and cruel Purist actions against a people and a place I know better and where I have closer friends?

@typeoff I had an internet problem last week, and Adobe punished me rightaway. No InDesign, no Photoshop. I pay for all other apps as well, but apart from a professional Acrobat, I don’t use them. Adobe must enjoy punishing.

The funniest part of the Adobe CC application is when you take your laptop somewhere without internet access and try to open one the applications. It won’t let you in the app, because it can’t verify the subscription with the online database. Thanks Adobe, you’re such a pal! 🤮
