I liked the movie. I really liked Bee Gees versions of the Beatles songs. I particularly liked Robin’s version of Oh! Darling. I know I’m in the minority here but I really liked the movie.

Today in Rock History November 16, 1978 The Bee Gees, Billy Preston, and Peter Frampton make their acting debuts in the film Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The movie is a box office failure, with critics widely panning it. Rolling Stone claimed Frampton had “absolutely no future in Hollywood,” and Newsweek described the film as “a dangerous resemblance to wallpaper.” It even received a nomination for Worst Picture at the 1978 Stinkers Bad Movie Awards.

@bgscucumbercas1 It was supposed to be the HEARTLAND of AMERICA and everyone had a different accents mostly British. So the decision was made that the only one to talk would be George Burns who did the narration. I love the movie and Robin on the big screen makes my day for sure.

@bgscucumbercas1 Robin could get quite bold and colorful in his outfits, check out some of the 60"s outfits. It was a sign of times. They all found their fashion style eventually.
