On VE Day, we commemorate the end of the war in Europe and the incredible work carried out in secret at Bletchley Park. If you could ask a Bletchley Park codebreaker one question about their wartime experience, what would it be? Pictured: A photograph of a group of WAAF (Women's Auxiliary Air Force) personnel from Bletchley Park who travelled to Trafalgar Square on VE Day to celebrate. On VE Day, many Veterans and civilians travelled to London to celebrate the end of the war in Europe, in addition to the celebrations nationwide. #BletchleyPark #VEDay

We were honoured to welcome His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent on Monday 23 March 2026, marking 30 incredible years as Patron of the Bletchley Park Trust. The Duke toured the site, including our latest exhibition, The Age of AI, before enjoying afternoon tea with four Veterans in the Mansion Dining Room. A memorable visit to mark a remarkable milestone. #BletchleyPark #RoyalVisit @RoyalFamily

@courtsidewithcp Of course you’re included. The number of times you tweet about Jack, it would be a statistical anomaly if you weren’t included!

The winter of 1939–1940 was the coldest in 45 years — so cold that Bletchley Park’s lake froze solid! These rare photographs show Codebreakers skating on the ice and unforgettable snowy scenes around the Mansion. Photos courtesy of Judith Hodsdon.

Wartime shortages made Christmas a sparse affair, but a good Christmas dinner was obligatory, with cooks putting on a good spread in spite of rationing. At least for one day, everyone was able to enjoy plenty of meat, veg, fruit, dessert and drink. Even the personnel of Naval Party 100, the isolated Y Station at Polyarnoe near Murmansk in northern Russia, enjoyed roast turkey, ham and roast potatoes with green peas, Christmas pudding with custard sauce, lemon curd tarts and orange juice! Pictured left to right: Photograph of Christmas food in Hut 147, Church Green camp, Christmas dinner menu 1944, RAF Church Green, Bletchley.
