🇨🇦 Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) aircraft fleet (28); July 15, 2026
➢ 28 aircraft are in the MNR fleet, per the CCAR
➢ Only 6 aircraft appear capable of ADS-B Out (decades-old technology)
➢ 22 exclusively use positionless Mode-S
➢ MNR aircraft operate from Kenora, Dryden, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, Timmins, etc. where Mode-S/MLAT is difficult due to the number of receivers (few).
➢ Some aircraft may be operational and not identified, but it's hard to avoid any Mode-S/MLAT for months/years.
➢ The longer they are not identified by FlightRadar24, AirNavRadar, and ADSBexchange, the more likely they are not operational, not just avoiding detection.
➢ 12 (43%) of the fleet has been identified by multilateration of their Mode-S or ADS-B Out transponder in the past 28 days.
➢ Canadair CL-415 (Super Scooper) water bombers (9) are highlighted. 2 haven't been identified in a year, 1 hasn't been identified in months, suggesting 33% of the super scooper fleet doesn't fly. 👀
