I met with air crew and personnel at Thunder Bay Airport this morning to thank them for their work supporting the wildfire response in northern Ontario. Right now, crews in more than 80 waterbombers and helicopters are hard at work fighting the fires, with another 40 aircraft on standby to assist.

Canada’s energy future must be built by and for Canadians.

This morning, I met with Premier Ford at the legislature and gave him this letter resigning as Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming.

I don't know. As best as I can figure, 6 might be serviceable, and 3 don't seem to be operational. Nobody has investigated why that is, or why the government of Ontario doesn't want to be honest about what assets are fighting the fires in Northern Ontario.

Marie, Thunder Bay, Timmins, etc. where Mode-S/MLAT is difficult due to the number of receivers (few). ➢ Some aircraft may be operational and not identified, but it's hard to avoid any Mode-S/MLAT for months/years. ➢ The longer they are not identified by FlightRadar24, AirNavRadar, and ADSBexchange, the more likely they are not operational, not just avoiding detection. ➢ 12 (43%) of the fleet has been identified by multilateration of their Mode-S or ADS-B Out transponder in the past 28 days. ➢ Canadair CL-415 (Super Scooper) water bombers (9) are highlighted. 2 haven't been identified in a year, 1 hasn't been identified in months, suggesting 33% of the super scooper fleet doesn't fly. 👀

Would you look at that. Smoke drifting up to Canada from the massive wildfires burning in Oregon and Washington. The US National Weather Service Spokane shared this satellite image showing active U.S. wildfires. Driven by mid-to-upper level winds, this massive smoke highway is tracking straight north, blanketing eastern Washington and northern Idaho before invading southern British Columbia. It completely flips Trump’s bizarre rants about punishing Canada. Turns out the atmosphere flows both ways.

Through Ontario's coordinated emergency response network, volunteers can provide critical assistance during emergencies and recovery efforts. As communities face ongoing challenges from wildland fires, Ontario Corps is ready to help where support is needed most.

Trump: We are holding Canada responsible for the fact that they are not properly maintaining their Forests, and Brush therein, and the United States is being unnecessarily invaded by filthy, polluted, and unhealthy air, the quality of which is dangerous, and totally unacceptable! I will call the Prime Minister during the day to find out what they are going to do about it. The cost is incalculable! Canada has refused to engage in basic Forest Management and Debris Removal, knowing that such refusal will lead to exactly this result. This is Willful Negligence, and becoming a yearly occurrence, costing the United States Billions of Dollars, which cost of this pollution must of necessity be added to the TARIFFS Canada is currently paying.

Our government won’t put a price on safety and I mean it when I say we will spare no expense to protect communities from wildfires. To the firefighters and emergency personnel on the ground, and to everyone who has been impacted by these fires, my message is simple: we will have your backs, no matter what.
