For the first time in like forever and only the 3rd time since my brain surgery I slept through the night ..got 9.5 hrs of uninterrupted sleep.. no nightmares, no getting up ..nothing.. just sleep.

Some heartbreaking news. Sir Thomas Browne became very ill yesterday morning. His decline was rapid but he was well cared for. His transformation from homeless street scrapper to distinguished softie made the last two years very special indeed. #RIP and farewell great cat.

It’s a day for photographing books. Pouring here flooding everywhere, I’ve been told that I can’t get home every thing impassable because of floods. Oh well there are worse places to be than our bookshop. Feel deeply sorry for anyone whose home or business is flooded.

The ceiling is coming down, most of the landing lights are fused, there are sheep lick buckets everywhere to catch rainwater…but I’ve begun the ball action. When there’s an exceptionally cold draught the balls even move in a magical fashion.🙌xxx

The stress here is a bit unbearable. Frustrations have been taken out (at snail pace) on the green carpet of weeds, the crossword, a paper pile… And the cat just doesn’t care about any of it apart from that his tower has been moved into the cinema that is the double doors!xxx
