Was honoured to have the opportunity to speak at a celebration of parliamentarians!

The King, The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Cambridge attended the Opening Ceremony of Parliament Week. As part of the events, His Majesty gave a speech to parliamentarians and members of the public recounting on his own experiences in politics.

The House of Lords has welcomed 4 new peers to the Upper Chamber over the transition period into Term 65. The following thread explores our newest members;

Whilst Flight Lieutenant CommanderAlice takes some leave, we welcome Acting Flying Officer Krazee02 in to the position of Squadron Officer for 33 Squadron alongside a permanent promotion to JaneMReed and a temporary posting of Squadron Warrant Officer.

I also would like to thank @SmellyLennox and @ThorneTai for the opportunity in RAF to serve as a Warrant Officer - this has been a big goal of mine in the making, and I hope to continue working to train up new pilots in 33 Squadron!

My privilege to swear in both @ShaylixLGraffon and @TobyEWilliams as justices of our High Courts and Crown Courts respectively; I look forward to working with both on the bench. (Forgive the Garter chain, it's used in place of the LCJ one)

The King, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister of Canada, has been pleased to approve the appointment of Mr William Blackwood as the next Governor General of Canada.

I am pleased to announce that William Blackwood will be my successor as Governor General of Canada, as recommended to me by Cabinet, and approved this morning by His Majesty the King. I know he will do great and I look forward to helping him however I can to succeed.

Last week, His Majesty officially reestablished the Order of Saint John, with changes to its structure, mission and composition. The order aims to promote charitable objectives and enhance the well-being of people across the Commonwealth and around the world.
