Displaying exceptional prowess in the field of command, Janek Sunber was a natural leader. Driven by a strong sense of personal duty, he seldom gave orders without carrying them out himself, demonstrating a commendable work ethic whilst earning the respect of his subordinates.

Rather than return home a failure, Janek instead opted for the infantry, enlisting at the prestigious Academy of Carida. Determined to forge a life for himself within the respected ranks of the Imperial Army, Sunber excelled through grueling tests of discipline and endurance.

A skilled pilot, Janek would frequently take to the skies in his T-16 back home on Tatooine. Along with his friends, he had hoped to someday make it as an Imperial pilot. Despite testing above-average, however, Sunber's flight skills ultimately failed to meet Imperial standards.
