INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY 2024 “Bow wow, woof woof, bow wow wow…” As you know, 2024 is the 50th anniversary of THE YEAR OF THE DIAMOND DOGS. Today also happens to be the 20th anniversary of International Dog Day, founded on 26th August 2004 by Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert, Animal Rescue Advocate, Conservationist, Dog Trainer and Author, Colleen Paige. Read more about the day and Colleen’s work here: nationaldogday.com/about1 David Bowie’s love of dogs is well documented, and he has been photographed with various pooches many times over the years. But perhaps the best known of those pictures is his iconic session with Terry O’Neill for the promotion of Diamond Dogs. We’ve posted a few of them here, along with the promo poster (slide 4) of Guy Peellaert’s original artwork based on one of the photos for what was going to be the inner gatefold of Diamond Dogs. In the end, the beautiful decaying cityscape created by Leee Black Childers was used with the words of Future Legend overprinted.
