Labour created the monster of harvesting Muslim community bloc votes and yesterday that monster came back to bite them. As I've said many times before, we are a multiracial country, not a multicultural country. If you stir up grievance politics between groups based on religion or race, as Labour have done for decades, as Reform are seeking to do, and as the Greens have done successfully in this by-election, you are pitting neighbours against each other and you start to unravel the culture of tolerance that makes Britain great. Our country is not broken, but this by-election showed that Labour, Reform and the Greens are trying very hard to break it. Labour trying to buy people off with more and more benefits spending. Reform telling people you can't be British if you aren't white. The Greens running a nasty, sectarian campaign while simultaneously wanting to legalise crack-cocaine. Clearly this election was not about who would be the best MP. But there was only one sensible candidate standing in Gorton and Denton, and it was Charlotte Cadden - a former chief inspector of police, a mother, a woman who fought for single sex spaces and dignity for women and girls. While the other parties race to the bottom, Charlotte embodies the new Conservative Party. This result shows Keir Starmer’s premiership is finished. He lost authority a long time ago, a mere hostage at the mercy of a divided Labour Party that cannot decide who to replace him with. He has lost the support of his voters, his MPs and the country. He is in office but not in power. If he had any integrity he would go.

Imagine two families, each with three children. One set of parents work. The others don’t. If Labour lifts the two child benefit cap, the working parents will need to earn £71,000 to match the family on benefits. We shouldn't tax the hardworking to pay for the non-working.

Speaker Lindsay Hoyle was on a jolly to the British Virgin Islands when he says he learned Peter Mandelson was apparently a flight risk (unlikely). No surprise he was in the Caribbean. Long been branded ‘long-haul Hoyle’ at our expense, spending more than £320,000 of taxpayers’ cash on foreign jaunts up until last summer since becoming Speaker in 2019. He spent more than £200,000 on first and business class plane tickets plus tens of thousands more spent on chauffeur-driven cars, stays at luxury five-star resorts and restaurants. During a previous Caribbean tour in March 2023, he shelled out nearly £5,500 chartering private planes to hop between the islands of St Maarten, Montserrat, Anguilla and Antigua. In 2024, he spent £22,000 for a five-day trip to meet his counterpart in the Cayman Islands, staying at the Westin Grand, where his room was billed at £679 per night. His snout. Our trough. They really do take us for fools.

And that needs to start with @UKLabour standing by the pledges they made to #WASPI women before the election. That betrayal has cut deep and will lose Labour many votes as it did yesterday.

PSA to everyone in the UK: Anyone who tells you they are a "GMC-registered medical professional" must be treated as if they are a charlatan and a fraud. As soon as they utter that phrase, please ask to see a real doctor. It is a major red flag that you ignore at your peril
Burnt Toast@Burnt2020

@law_policy1 @medicalmodelbri It does highlight the absurdly dangerous situation in the UK where people who are not doctors and who are not medically qualified can legally describe themselves as ‘GMC registered medical professionals’.

For context, it appears from the BBC Investigation that the Met Police were already aware of nearly 10,000 cases involving grooming gang activity against girls in London - run by Labour’s Mayor Sadiq Khan. Yet Khan tried to claim he didn’t know what Susan Hall was talking about.
Susan Hall AM@Councillorsuzie

The BBC have done a good investigation regarding London’s grooming gangs. @sima_kotecha Why do so many Labour politicians try and avoid looking into this? Sadiq Khan professed not to understand what I was asking about.

Labour brought in tuition fees. The Conservatives tripled them. The result is a generation of doctors starting work with £100,000+ of debt hanging over them. Interest rates are so high on Plan 2 loans that balances can grow even while repayments are being made. I went to state school. I was the first from my family to study medicine. I graduated with around £75,000 of student debt. I’ve been paying it back for years. Despite that, I now owe around £90,000 due to astronomically high interest rates on the Plan 2 loans. That is not a system built on fairness. It is a system that traps people in decades of repayments for choosing a public service profession. Medicine already demands years of training, antisocial hours, and delayed earning potential. Adding six figure debt on top of that tilts the scales even further against anyone without a privileged financial background. If you come from a working-class background, the message is clear: you can come in, but you will carry the financial burden for decades. This policy restricts social mobility. It entrenches inequality. And it weighs down an entire generation of graduates before their careers have even properly begun. The system must change.

40% rise in UK supermarket food prices since 2020. It’s breaking people. Food is becoming unaffordable for so many people. And the supermarkets show record profits and pay farmers pittance for their food. They are fleecing farmers at the purchase and consumers at the sale.

50% of Tesco, in-store, workforce receiving UC. This subsidy costs taxpayers around £600m pa. In the meantime, the organisation publish record profits (again) of £3.1b and CEO receives nearly £10m. Registered in ROI for tax purposes. Obscene doesn't adequately cover it yet @thejeremyvine and @ianjones5news ask you to focus on those in receipt of the 'benefit'?

Ken Murphy is Tesco’s UK CEO and the highest paid supermarket boss. He gets £9,930,000 a year, but is registered to pay tax in the Republic of Ireland. Yet today he complains about his workers wages being too high.

For all of this century it’s always been easier for young folks to find work in the UK than in the EU, where youth unemployment rates were consistently higher than UK. It explains why so many young, educated, ambitious Europeans flocked to the UK to work, much to our mutual benefit. These days are over. Britain’s youth unemployment rate has risen above Europe’s for the first time: unemployment among 16 to 24-year-olds jumped to 15.3% in the three months to September, surpassing the EU’s rate of 15pc, according to the OECD. It marks the first time youth unemployment in Britain has been higher than in the bloc since records began in 2000. Labour policies — especially pushing up the minimum wage too much — are to blame. Even the Bank of England says minimum wage increases for pricing young people out of work. But raising national insurance contributions has also crippled many industries that employed young folks. Thanks Starmer-Reeves. Another fine success story.

While you wait years for surgery, doctors are being turned away from becoming surgeons. In 2025, 40,000 doctors applied for just 10,000 specialty training jobs. 9 doctors competed for every surgical training job. These jobs are capped by the Government. Some doctors are being forced into unemployment because they can’t find work. There are doctors ready to train. There are patients waiting. The only thing missing is political will.

The #WASPI women were just delivered a final, bitter betrayal by @UKLabour. “This party is happy to recognise and name a clear injustice when it’s in opposition, but when it comes time to put its money where its mouth is, they’ll opt to keep the money every time.” thecanary.co/uk/analysis/20…
