This is a really bad day for SA media, and for SA's democracy in general. The more we lose reputable news sources, the more gaps there are for the fly by night, made for advertising aggregators and fake news players to take advantage. Which can only be bad for our notion of truth.

At least in South Africa convicted criminals aren't allowed to run for president.

In past elections, the ANC vote % steadily increased as the results were released. Day one of the count usually was the worst for them. It will be interesting to see if 2024 follows a similar pattern.
