3 weeks ago, I released Gambonanza Since then the game has reached: - 200k+ sales (135k on Steam - 75k on mobile) - 300k+ wishlists I wanted to share the real numbers, what helped the most, and the things that genuinely surprised me as an indie dev 👀 Thread 🧵 1/15

THIS IS WHAT AN INDIE GAME LOOKS LIKE

After years of work as a solo developer, the final trailer for Pompeii: The Legacy is here. It’s almost time 😊 🏛️ Full Release – April 9, 2026 #indiedev #gamedev #citybuilder

5/10 Dice Gun Commando by Loonicy Entertainment (@Jantho1990) A dice-building survivors-like where every roll shapes your gun and your fate. Behind the roguelike chaos is a dev betting everything on fun, strategy and that satisfying click of possibility. Warm chaos done right. Wishlist + demo here → store.steampowered.com/app/4537600/Di… Creator, your dice are ON fire(!) rolling for all of us on the wild frontier. You are seen. 🎲🕯️❤️ (Josh, in his own words, here...) x.com/Jantho1990/sta…

Recently, to promote my game and grow wishlists, I’ve participated in a lot of #WishlistWednesday, #ShowcaseThursday, and #ScreenshotSaturday posts. I noticed that there’s a different hashtag activity almost every day of the week. However, most of the comments, likes, and reposts under these posts come from other developers. It feels a bit strange — are there mostly just developers and very few actual players? I’m genuinely curious: how many real gamers actually click through, watch gameplay videos, try demos, or add indie games to their wishlists? Or is it mainly mutual promotion between devs? If you’re a real player who enjoys discovering new indie games through these tags, I’d love to hear from you! Could you recommend some active accounts that truly play and support indie titles? Thanks in advance!
