A student interested in #oncology asked me: How to balance the excitement over oncologic diagnosis and treatment with the fact that cancer is devastating for people? A key question. Totally ok to nerd out (I do a lot), but don’t let intellectual enthusiasm overshadow compassion.

I probably went into oncology bc I love discussing complex cases and solving puzzles… and I was right, tumor board is still my favorite thing. I feel sorry for doctors who don’t have a Board to consult.
