@novicephysio Yeah the study is best practice, it’s just not watchful waiting

@JaredPowell12 I tend to agree with the study - frozen shoulder gets better with CSI and time. PT waste of money IMO

This study makes no sense - let's give everyone the most evidence based Rx for frozen shoulder (IA CSI) and then aggressively over-treat the PT group with poor PT (posture correction) and then wonder why PT group cost more with no better outcomes. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39537016/

@chadcookpt That’s the one Chad. Could be world class from the 800m-10km by the looks, more range than ingebrigtsen even, which is astonishing.

Anyone have the reference showing that the minimal acromiohumeral distance ("impingement") occurs at a lower elevation angle than many previously thought? I believe around 70 degrees?

Exercise helps people with pain—but strength gains alone rarely explain why. This editorial is a powerful reminder that how movement is delivered matters more than what’s loaded. Modern pain care means adapting movement to values, beliefs, and lived experience—check out our Pain Practice OS course if you want to do this well in your practice

@GregLehman @CorKinetic Sure, but it was still speculative. I think now the position is untenable and a paper summarising it is useful.

@JaredPowell12 @CorKinetic I’m not against it. I’m saying we had enough data to make this argument over a decade ago and our profession lagged behind and continued to support and teach a questionable and dogmatic narrative

@JaredPowell12 @CorKinetic I think we could make the case well before that and that’s why many did. I’m not sure mediation studies really make the position that much stronger. At least to the extent that people should have been listening a long time ago

@GregLehman @CorKinetic Good foreshadowing - I too have been working on this for the past 8 years. However, we only have mediation data analysis available from more recently to allow us hold this position more strongly.

@CorKinetic Ya. I have an old slide deck from 2013 asking us to reframe our targets of exercise :)

@stevekamper1 said many moons ago our evidence-base wasn't ready for NMA's, a prophecy that appears to be coming true.

Summary: NMA was technically feasible, but the resulting evidence was so low in certainty that a responsible interpretation should have concluded: "All seven exercise types are equally effective for RCRSP, and we have insufficient reliable data to determine if one is superior."

Concentric strengthening for the win for RCRSP? Before this goes viral - please read it carefully. Look at the SMD's, sample sizes, head to head comparisons, and then look at the strength of the conclusion. josr-online.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

A lot of noise about frozen shoulder and it's lifestyle contributors lately and that's totally fair but let's not forget that genetics are also a significant risk factor. #info" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">jbjs.org/reader.php?rsu…
