My first night in Accra, Ghana, a hotel receptionist told me, “We don’t allow Nigerians here.” I think he figured from my accent. That was the first time I was felt threatened by own race cos as a Nigerian, I grew up with internationals; Germans, Indians, other African countries etc. As a matter of fact, my family isn’t entirely Nigerian. This is actually very true! Nigerians do not give a damn about foreigners, so far you are African, you are safe in Nigerian soil. we are too many to be concern about who is Nigerian and who is not.
