Five years ago today, I lost my Dad, George Krueger. I find myself thinking about him often. He was my life’s primary compass, and honestly I’m a little lost without him. He was equal parts friend, counselor, advisor, conscience, teacher, motivator, Comedian, Giants/49ers fan, and father. He always made me laugh. He challenged me to be great. He guided my life through his wisdom, love and kindness. He demanded that his four children have dreams and then he helped us live out those dreams. He was a faithful son, husband, father, grand father, civil servant, and friend. He sacrificed for the good of his family his entire life. He was a man’s man yet was also very gentle and kind. He used to say to me everyday as he dropped me off at school: “Give em hell, kid”. I still live my life by that simple philosophy. If I was ever reunited with him, all I would say is “Thanks Dad.” You were the best.
